SteelCore Studio: A Former NYC Ballet Dancer Brings Pilates to Bethlehem

Marisa Cerveris spent years performing with the New York City Ballet. When she brought her expertise to the Lehigh Valley, she did not just open a Pilates studio. She built something that reflects the precision and artistry of her dance career. SteelCore Studio at 434 West Broad Street in Bethlehem is the result.

Built for Movement

The studio features a sprung floor made of 1x3 white pine with three levels of shock absorption, the same kind of flooring you find in professional dance studios. Top of the line equipment includes springboards, reformers, and a Cadillac. Private and small group sessions focus on Pilates and ballet barre, taught with the kind of attention to form and alignment that comes from years of professional dance training.

The Athleisure Lines

Cerveris did not stop at teaching. She designs three athleisure and dancewear lines: ByMarisa, SteelCore, and SteelCore Planet, the last of which uses organic and sustainable fabrics. The clothing is sold at the studio and reflects the same aesthetic that defines the space: clean, strong, and intentional. CNN featured the studio and the clothing lines, bringing national attention to what Cerveris has built in Bethlehem.

Bethlehem's Ballet Connection

There is something fitting about a former New York City Ballet dancer opening a studio in Bethlehem. This is a city that has always punched above its weight culturally, and SteelCore adds another layer to that story. Whether you are a seasoned Pilates practitioner or someone who has never touched a reformer, Cerveris and her team meet you where you are and push you to move better.
