The Lehigh Valley has one of the deepest running traditions of any region its size in the country. Runner's World was headquartered here. Bart Yasso still lives here. The Lehigh Valley Road Runners manage 19 races a year. If you are a runner, or thinking about becoming one, this is the valley to do it in.
The Big Ones
The Bethlehem Running Festival in October is hosted by Bart Yasso himself and presented by LVHN. It offers a trail run, kids run, 5K, 10K, half marathon, and relay, all set against the backdrop of Bethlehem's historic streets and trails. The St. Luke's Half Marathon and 5K in April, owned and operated by LVRR since 1977, starts at William Allen High School in Allentown and is one of the oldest road races in the region.
The D&L RaceFest presented by St. Luke's in November features a marathon, marathon relay, and half marathon on a USATF-certified course along the D&L Trail. The marathon and marathon relay start at 8th and Hamilton streets in downtown Allentown, while the half marathon starts on Main Street in downtown Bethlehem. All three finish at Scott Park in Easton, following one of the most scenic stretches of trail in the valley.
Year Round Options
Beyond the headliners, the valley hosts the Brew to Brew 10K, the Lights in the Parkway 5K, the Mother's Day Run for the Roses in Coplay, and dozens of other community races throughout the year. The LVRR calendar alone fills 19 weekends with organized events.
For Every Level
You do not need to be fast to run a race in the Lehigh Valley. The culture here is welcoming to everyone from first-time 5K participants to ultramarathon veterans. The running community shows up for each other, the courses are well-organized, and the post-race atmosphere at every event feels like a celebration rather than a competition. Lace up and join in.
