Book and Puppet Company: The Easton Shop Where Books Meet Puppets and Magic

There is no other store quite like Book and Puppet Company. Located at 161 Northampton Street in downtown Easton, this shop is part bookstore, part gift shop, and part puppet theater. Owners Andy Laties and Rebecca Migdal opened it in 2017 with a vision that refuses to be categorized, and the result is one of the most joyful retail experiences in the Lehigh Valley.

What Is In Here

The shop is jam-packed with children's books, graphic novels, puppets, art supplies, games, musical toys, cards, stationery, discount books, and novelties. Rebecca is a puppeteer and puppet maker, and her handmade jewelry is sold alongside the books. The store hosts story hours, puppet shows, author talks, and creative events that make it as much a community space as a retail shop.

The Puppet Theater

Yes, there is an actual puppet theater inside the store. Puppet shows happen regularly, and they are not just for kids. The performances reflect the same creative, slightly offbeat spirit that defines the entire shop. It is the kind of place where adults rediscover their sense of wonder and kids feel like they have found their favorite place on earth.

Downtown Easton's Creative Core

Book and Puppet Company is part of a downtown Easton that has become one of the valley's most interesting places to spend an afternoon. The State Theatre is around the corner. The Easton Public Market is a short walk away. Galleries and restaurants line the surrounding blocks. In this context, a bookstore with a puppet theater does not seem unusual at all. It seems exactly right.
