A taste of New York street food culture continues to grow in the Lehigh Valley, and locals are taking notice.
What started as a family dream rooted in Queens, New York, has quickly evolved into one of the region's growing halal food destinations. After building a loyal following in Allentown, Crispy Halal is now expanding into South Bethlehem, bringing its signature flavors, made-in-house menu, and family-first approach to a new community.
For the family behind Crispy Halal, food has always meant something deeper.
"We're originally from Queens, New York, where food is more than just a meal. It's part of who we are," the family shared. "Growing up there taught us the importance of real flavor, consistency, and hard work."
In 2022, they made the move to the Lehigh Valley with one goal in mind: build something of their own.
That vision came to life with the opening of their first Crispy Halal location at 514 North 7th Street in Allentown. Inspired by the bold flavors and fast-paced food culture of New York City, the family wanted to bring an authentic halal dining experience to the Lehigh Valley without sacrificing quality.
From day one, Crispy Halal has been a true family business.
Success did not happen overnight. It came through long hours, sacrifice, and a willingness to do whatever it took to make the business work. Every member of the family played a role in helping build the restaurant from the ground up.
"It's been all of us, working side by side, putting in long hours, making sacrifices, and doing whatever it takes to succeed," the owners said.
That commitment extends beyond the people behind the counter and directly into the food itself.
At a time when many restaurants rely heavily on convenience, Crispy Halal has built its reputation around doing things differently. Everything is made in-house, with a strong focus on consistency, quality ingredients, and flavor.
"We've always stood on one thing: quality," the family shared. "We don't cut corners, and we don't compromise on taste."
That approach has helped the business quickly build a loyal customer base across the Lehigh Valley, with community support playing a major role in the restaurant's growth.
Following the success of their Allentown location, the family knew it was time for the next chapter.
Now, Crispy Halal has expanded into Southside Bethlehem, introducing its menu to a new audience and continuing its momentum in the region. To celebrate the opening, the team welcomed the community with a grand opening event featuring free food, giving locals a chance to experience firsthand what the brand is all about.
But for the family behind Crispy Halal, this is only the beginning.
Another location is already planned for Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and the long-term vision reaches far beyond a handful of storefronts.
"Our vision goes beyond just opening a few restaurants," the family said. "We're building toward a franchise. We want to take what we've created, our system, our flavors, and our family-driven approach, and expand it across many cities."
In a region that continues to embrace locally owned businesses, Crispy Halal is proving that authenticity, consistency, and hard work still resonate with customers.
For this family, Crispy Halal is not just a business. It is their story, their grind, and their future.
